No Bacon Jerky :( July 11, 2012

Okay, according to my Mom (who has a ton more experience than I with such things) bacon jerky wouldn’t really work. For one thing, jerky requires lean meats. Bacon is just too greasy. For another, drying jerky doesn’t cook the pork enough to make it safe. Drat. I was excited cause bacon is pre-seasoned, pre-sliced, and cheap(er).

Some other ideas though are one: try some of the other pre-seasoned meats; two: add bacon seasoning to other meats (this idea came from my brother – kudos to him).
