With my Ham Radio license and experience I help provide communication for a lot of events – races, parades, scouting events, etc. And with many of these events, as part of the thank you, I get a free t-shirt. After 12 years of such service, I have a ton of t-shirts!
T-shirts are one of the most frequent freebies out there, so I’m sure a lot of you have old and memorable t-shirts too. So, I’ve compiled a list of things we could do with them:
- Make a t-shirt quilt – This is so easy and it’s a great way to display them. Plus, if you’ll remember yesterday’s post I mentioned quilted curtains. How about some insulated quilted curtains made out of your old t-shirts? A perfect way to display them!
- Revamp your wardrobe – In the classic Threadbanger tradition, turn your old t-shirts into a new item of clothing! Turn them into new fashionable shirts, skirts, hoodies, dresses, etc. And I love this idea for an AberZombie shirt!
Check out these books too: - Make a Rag Rug – If your shirt is covered in holes (or stains) you could turn it into a zombie costume, or a rag rug.
- Turn them into art – You could just cut out the design on the shirt and stick in a frame for some artwork.
- Convert them into green shopping bags – Reduce your plastic use by turning your t-shirts into reusable grocery bags. (I like the ones with a “green” theme.)
If you have any ideas you’d like to add to the list, feel free to leave a comment. I would absolutely love to hear them!
